"The Champions are in Denver"

Denver Nuggets Championship Limited Edition Print 2023

This painting was created in honor of the 2022-2023 NBA Champion Denver Nuggets.  It depicts Denver's stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, and the Nuggets team behind them.  It also features Head Coach Mike Malone, and the Larry O'Brien Championship trophy. 

This championship is special for a number of reasons.  This Denver team has never won a championship ever before. Growing up outside of Denver, I watched them get beat by big market teams time and time again.  This team is hard-working, humble, team-focused, well-rounded, deeply talented, and focused.  The coaching staff is stacked with experience, well-managed, and intelligent.  This Nuggets team was overlooked every step of the way. No one would give them enough credit.  They had to make a bold statement, and they did.

The journey that this Nuggets team has taken has been a long road.  Both Jokic and Murray were drafted by the Nuggets, and have spent their careers in Denver. That's special in professional sports.  Jamal Murray had to come back from a torn ACL a few seasons back.  They have never been given full respect as a top-tier team.  Now here they are, Champions.  Congratulations to the 2023 Denver Nuggets!
