The Soul of the Jungle:
This painting is an abstraction that was created live during a sound bowl session at a yoga studio with my friend and collaborator Alexandra Smith of Woven Studio. These paintings begin with no plan of where the piece is going to go, just a blank canvas and time to develop. These pieces are exciting and once it starts, there’s really no time to think. And that’s the point.
This piece was created during the sound bowl session in the week after a powerful meditative experience which connected me to the jungles and plants of this beautiful planet we live on. My subconscious was bringing this through in a strong way. My guide on my journey was a musician as well and this piece feels musical to me. Looking at it now, I can see all the energy of the music and the dynamic nature of the forests coming through.
